Hurricanes and waves...

Without a doubt,...the weather has been crazy here at Ocean Rodeo! Hammered by 3 back to back weather systems featuring hurricane force winds we've taken a beating. The warehouse was knocked out for 2 days without power, and many of us have been "in the dark" with no power for up to a week. How we depend on our modern luxuries!

The wind last Friday peaked at 80 knots ( 150 km ), with a west swell building to 40 feet (14 m) off the west coast of Vancouver Island. Lots of damage with massive trees falling like toothpick's on some exposed points.

It seemed to be all feast or famine with the wind,...to much and then nothing! France's, Patrice Guenole of Magic Surf http://www.magicsurf.fr/ , (OR distributor for France) made a visit last week with his new Gong SUP boards (stand up paddle boards), with his trip timed perfectly between storms he scored some classic Canadian waves with Richard and Ross.
