Lights, camera, action,..OR on Discovery TV!

Discovery tv, originally uploaded by ocean rodeo.

The new Ocean Rodeo surfing drysuit caught the attention of Discovery Channel TV!
Filming started at 7 am yesterday as the Discovery film crew followed surfers Erik Hansen and Hugh Pite to a mysto cold water reef break off Vancouver Islands west coast.
No messing around, the Discovery Crew had the camera's rolling and the questions flying. They did their homework on wetsuits and drysuits and really went deep to expose the performance characteristics of the worlds first surfing drysuit.

After the surf session the film crew visited Ocean Rodeo headquarters for an interview with Richard Myerscough focused on the development and manufacturing of the suit.
The clip will air on Discovery Channel in Canada and the US in the next few months. (we'll post exact times ASAP!)
ps. Erik Hansen in picture doing his best snowball fight pose for the camera.

Baja Demo Days

Brian from Cali Kites goes big, again. (Ding-a-ling)

Loading the truck....

2007 One kites....

Ola from Mexico! The Ventana trip has been a huge success with five straight days of kiting and riders lining up to fly and buy the everything we managed to fit in the truck.
To say that the 07 kites have been well received is a massive understatement, with many testers now peddling the "other guy's" brands in order to put together the cash to buy ours....we continue to convert the planet one rider at a time.

Mexico - Here we come

1st day on the water here in La Ventana and I tell you, people are STOKED! Evan and Brian from CaliKites arrived here yesterday and so had a chance to get out then too and apparently the last 2 days have been the best of the whole season.

We had 2 7m Ones, an 8m Diablo, 3 9m Ones, a 12m One, 3 x Mako 134, 2 x Mako 150 and a Zen 135 all out, ALL DAY. Stoked. People were trecking down the beach to get on the new gear. I think we completely converted Roger (part owner of where we are staying) to Ocean Rodeo gear after he spent close to 2.5 hours on a Mako 134 and a 12m One. He came in dancing the jig...litterally. He summed things up saying, "that was the best session of my season, I didn't even know I could do tricks like that!" Sold. Welcome to the Crew!

The new '07 equipment is turning heads. For sure. Tomorrow we are off to the "Camp Ground" - For those who have never been here it is a massive area of trailers, campers and tents...kind of like a slum town but with thousands of dollars in kite gear! Anyway, demo day tomorrow in the Camp Ground. We rolled though there today to let people know we were here and got a really good vibe.

Pictures and more to post tomorrow!

Welcome to the Crew

OR Elite Crew Rider Philippe Alengrin - somewhere in Chile...

Who are we and what brings us together? What separates Ocean Rodeo riders from the rest of the world’s riders? What is it exactly that we have started here and where will it lead?

Our Crew of riders know what it means to be dedicated to their sport. They know what 5am feels like and they know the payout for the effort put in to find The Spot. You know the one, no one else rides there – just you and your Crew.

Ocean Rodeo. Created by people just like you. Created for people just like you.
