No doubt people with experince of the RISE will help but in the meantime have alook in the Technical Section.

There’s thread in there on the different setting points for the RISE and DIABLO. Might offer a clue or two.

Sorry i haven’t figured out how to post a link.

Obviously read the whole manual but page 14 gives the lowdown on the set up. I would say start with the factory setting (#1) and if you feel more adventurous have a play, I think the factory settings are probably your best bet though.

Have fun dude!

Personally, I like setting 4 the best for all kites bigger than 8m and setting 1 for my 6m. Setting 4 has the most depower and fastest turning but it can lead to stalls, so set your trim properly! Setting 1 gives lots of depower to the 6m but keeps the turning speeds in check and prevents me from stalling it in high winds.

I use setting #2 on my 07 14m RISE ... Note: It’s my light wind kite so I require the most stability & power ...  8)

I ride Setting 1, furthest forward - find it is best for unhooking.

I agree with JohnZ, setting #4 works great on the 12. I am nearing 200 hours on the Rise 12 and finally settled on #4 after lots of experimenting. It turns, it boosts and relaunches in a heartbeat!
I’m luvin it!
