Hello   Sports Racers!

Be sure to watch this announcement section for pictures and an update from Surf Expo!

Today is Wednesday and the booth is up and looking awesome. I will update this posting tomorrow or Friday with pictures of the booth and all our gear in it.

What gear is that you ask? Hmm, let’s see, what would people be most excited about? Possibly the PYRO SURF suit? (A skin tight drysuit you can take surfing or kiting!) The new 3mm or 5mm HOOD, BOOTS or GLOVES? The NEW 2007 BOARDS and KITES? Maybe the GO-JOE or possibly the new 2007 5th LINE PUNCH-OUT BAR? Ahh, the   “off season”  has been good to us.

More to come!

I will post some more product specific images tomorrow but let me tell you today has been a HUGE sucess. In between making time to visit all the   REEF GIRLS Evan, John Z and Richard have been slaving away meeting with a wide assortment of our dealers and distributors from the world over.

Everyone is stoked on the new gear and where things are headed with Ocean Rodeo this year!

Enjoy, I will be back soon with more images!

The new Mako is SWEET! It is 2 cm wider than the origional and rides super clean in the choppy water. Very nice, even in lighter wind!

Right on! The mako pro seems like the perfect compliment to the 150.
Any pics of the new 5th line bar yet? This is great to see just when the seasons are changing and storm expectations are building around here.
Yeeeee haw!

Well done Guys!

The ‘07 line up looks better than ever.

I hope you had a good Expo, I just wish I could’ve been there this year.

When can I get my hands on a 134 Mako?.. that bad boy looks like it’s going to be THE board for me for the season ahead. What’s the width?

Width on the 134 mako is 36.5cm only 1/2 a cm less than the Zen.  I had stayed away from the mako for my style of riding because of the length (150cm) but now I can’t wait to get hold of the new 134 mako.  1cm shorter and 1/2cm narrower than the Zen but with all that concave, looks like fun.

I too had been reluctant to get a Mako 150 because of it’s length but with the prospect of a 134 coupled with that amount of concave looks like it should be a whole world of fun!

I think that fast carving into toe-side and holding down the power with it should be a scream… I can’t wait :D

C’mon, when is the new kit gonna get to the shops??? Love the pics and new graphics. Gonna have to flog a kidney on ebay and expand the quiver a bit more.

So what is the difference to the One? One pump and faster turning, anything else? Looks nice.

Same (exactly the same) rocker as the Zen 135.

2002 Ocean Rodeo introduced the Fli Flex Outlaw board and changed the construction of kite boards forever. 2007 Ocean Rodeo introduces the 134 Mako Pro and repeates history (again.)

2007 boards available (Iain) in Late October!

Hi Lester,

I’m not sure whether there will be an upgade kit, I’ll leave John to answer that. In the meantime, the simplest solution is to attach the leash to the D ring at the chicken loop… providing that the stopper on the punch up isn’t screwed too tight, if you let go of the bar, it will knock the stopper up and the kite will be leashed on the two front lines.

I’ll let you know of any upgardes as I hear of them.

Hope you’re having fun with your ONE’s!

Iain

Hey Guys,

Can you give us any more info on the Pyro Surf?

What material is it? Does it have any intrinsic warmth or should layers be worn underneath the same as others drysuits?

07 Spinng One Bar - This modification is easily applied. Please see other threads on this forum for simple install instructions. It will need 2.5mm spectra line only. We will certainly make these available through our dealer base as well.

Pyro Surf - Trade secrets! The suit is very thin however and will not have much intrinsic warmth beyond the fact that you are bone dry. In warm air but cold water (typical shorty - 3mm wetsuit weather) I would recommend nice poly pro long underwear. In colder conditions you can use the Ocean Rodeo Pyro 1 piece long johns, available this Christmas. These are thick pile fleece and will keep you nice and warm while not sacrificing any range of motion.

Stoked to see all the interest in this suit!

Well… That’s what I will be having then John!

What sort of durability can we expect?

And… what price point?.... Is the surf More or Less than a Classic?

Ohhh…. these should be MUCH easier to swim in! :D

So the surf suit, it’s not neoprene?

Very interesting, I might be interested but ...those graphics on the neck/chest area “in my opinion” look over the top to fancy tribal but the
important thing is to be warm aside from the look .

Nice to see that the release safety on the 5th line has been moved, lost my 18 Bronco last week when I punched out, the safety attached to my harnest got caught up and engaged by by kite, I got it before it got stuck in a bridged, 1 km on a grassy shore, thank god for the seeweed that slowed the kite, I was never so tired in long time, oh shit happens.  Is there a solution for accidentals release of the safety system attached to the harness, i’ve got the fith line set up, this is the second time this has happened the last was with the 12 bronco, friend retrieve the kite if not it would still be flipping out to sea.  Gear looks great, are we able to order the ones now.

Hey Lester,

Me too, can’t wait to get my grubby paws on the new lighter 14, I reckon that’ll be a killer combo of 12-like useability coupled with lighter wind performance, chuck a 134 Mako into the mix and it’s gonna be happy days!  :D :D :D

I was fortunate enough to try out the Mako 134 at the Expo demo day.  It’s easily going to become my new one and only.  I think I could even take the fins off for flat water riding.  You guys are going to love it.  Thanks John, Richard and Evan for making the trip down to FL.  The ‘07 stuff is going to be hot.
