I am very interested in kite boarding and would like to know how is the kite boarding experience. How difficult is it to do? Could a beginner get going in a few hours? How dangerous is it?

Like all sports at the extreme end of the spectrum unfortunately accidents do happen and lawyers do get paid. With lessons from a good school and common sense the risks are relatively low.
If you can fly a land kite the a couple of days should see you doing you first water starts . From then on it is time on the water and up to you how hard you push yourself and where you take the sport.
