I have a 140 mako for med. to high wind and was looking for a little input about the 150. I ‘m 165 lbs and need a light wind board. So what would do the trick the 150 or 160 mako? I would be using a 14m kite.
165 lbs = 75 Kg so I am surprised the 140 does not cover the light with a 14m kite. How light do you want to go?
The 150 would be the obvious choice though for super light the king would work well.
It all depend what you want to do. If its tricks on a twintip then the king will be to big.
If it is to surf some small waves and cruse where others sit on the beach then the king is well King
The 140 works well with a 14m in 15 to 20 mph but in 8 to 15 it is alot of work. I read that there is not much difference between the 150 and 140 on the low end but it was written by someone much lighter then me. I realize I can’t go wrong with the 165 except for maybe jumping and turning would be slower.
To hit 8mph with comfort it is the king no question.
King is the way to go for those winds that you are talking about.
I ride a King strapless with a 14m and it’s a perfect combo, you can’t go wrong!
