what would be the wind range for a 12m/10m razor for a 200 lb rider? I have a flat freestyle board that i would be using, sadly I have learned that I cannot use rockered boards and fun small kites together.  Kiting in tropical weather.

The size of your board is important and how powered you like to ride.  Hot Tropical weather moves the whole wind range up the scale.
I would say mid to high teens starter for the 12m if you want hold position and pushing and high twenties mph if you like being well powered
10m would need to start in the Twenties and would go through to mid / high thirties

I’m 220 and ride a Mako 140. For the 2012 10m: 16 knots gets me going, 17 knots I can park the kite. Powered riding from18 knots, fun well over 30 in gusts. High 30ies I wouldn’t recommend on a 10m. I gues the 12 adds two or three knots to the low end, never tried one.

Wind range on a kite is a pretty common question that doesn’t really have a simple answer eg. carribean wind vs. cold Canadian wind that has more power.  For me at 180lbs. , the 12m has a range of @ 12/13 knots on a surfboard (Mulcoy 6’x18.75"x2.3” quad) up to 25 knots on a small twin tip.  As previously mentioned, the board (and style you want to ride)  plays a big part in wind range.  FYI, the 10m Razor is my go to kite and comes with me on every trip….
