I’ve just purchased new replacement strings for my free ride bar. I’m flying a 2012, 12m rise. My question is, what difference if any do the 3m extentions have on the kite? My original strings were 23m. These are 21m plus the 3 extra meter extentions.
Thanks for any info on this.

I mainly like/use them as a buffer on the ends, a lot of times the loop ends on the inside lines wear quickly, so I use the ends on the extensions and then flip them around after 20 or so sessions, and then when both ends are quite worn, I take the extensions off and go to the regular lines.

I’m not sure that 3m adds a considerable, noticeable amount of power, although you may notice it looping.

Thank you for that information, much appreciated!  Do you have the extentions attached at the bar end or kite? I have it rigged to my bar, thinking they will cause less grief snagging on each other etc.  These strings seem so thin compared to the HD strings I had originally, and I managed to snap one of those. Always learning…

Just out of curiosity, how many people ride with extensions and how many without?

When OR changed their lines from 23m to 21+3, I instantly wanted the extensions for all sessions, but I’m thinking that I may ride with 2 bars, one with extensions, one without so I can get tighter, faster loops on the non-extension set.

Any thoughts?
